HANDMADE STONEWARE POTTERY, WINDCHIMES AND BEADS Crater Rim Ceramics is located one and one half miles up a lava rock road on the slopes of Mauna Loa. Each piece is handmade, and no two pieces are the same. They are fired twice in a gas kiln, the second firing reaching temperatures of up to 2400 degrees. They are lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe. We have been inspired by the natural form and beauty of the Big Island. Judith Marks studied Ceramics at the University of Hawaii - Hilo and received the Bachelor of Arts Degree. She has been creating pottery for the Past 10 years.
